Packaging Before / After

From disconnected variants to one recognisable product family

Before

Every new product risked becoming a one-off

Without a shared packaging structure, protein, claims, and product information can compete for attention. New variants take longer to create and the family is harder to recognise across the store and shelf.

After

A repeatable system ready for production

A repeatable system ready for production

The same hierarchy scales across variants: fixed brand tab, clear product name, protein-specific colour and mascot, then claims and product information.

The Challenge

Whiskers n Paws needed growth that did not depend on simply spending more. The store, marketplace campaigns, and product presentation all needed to work together, with data showing where to improve and automation reducing repetitive operational work.

At the same time, the pet food range needed packaging that was easier to recognise and more attractive across seafood, meat, and treat variants. Each new product could not become another one-off design exercise.

Our Approach

We managed the store with data and analytics: reading marketplace performance, product behaviour, search demand, campaign results, and acquisition efficiency to decide what to improve next. Automation helped turn recurring checks and reporting into a more consistent operating rhythm.

Alongside store operations, we built a packaging system that made the range more attractive and easier to navigate. The brand tab stays fixed, while each protein gets its own colour and mascot; claims, nutrition, weight, barcode, and origin remain in a clear, repeatable hierarchy.

The two systems reinforced each other: better data informed where to focus store and campaign effort, while stronger packaging and product assets gave shoppers a clearer reason to choose the range. The work covered 30+ real pet food packs, including printed production labels—not just mockups.

How We Ran It

  • Store Management:Marketplace store, catalog, and campaign operations
  • Data & Analytics:Performance, search, acquisition, and efficiency signals
  • Automation:Recurring checks, reporting, and operational follow-up
  • Packaging Design:30+ packs across seafood, meat, and treats
  • Launch Assets:Product photography, marketplace pages, and ads
"The store and the packaging worked as one growth system: data told us what to improve, and the design made the product easier to choose."

Inside the Growth System

1. Data-Led Store Management

Marketplace performance and acquisition data guided where we focused store, catalog, and campaign effort.

2. Analytics Plus Automation

Recurring checks and reporting were systemised so the team could respond faster without adding manual overhead.

3. One Packaging Family

A fixed brand tab, clear product names, and protein-specific colour and mascot made variants feel connected.

4. Production-Ready Creative

The system extended from packaging into product, marketplace, and advertising assets without starting over each time.
